Christian Twitter Users Attempt at Trending Topic Backfires – Atheists Turn the Tables

Earlier today @RevRunWisdom (Joseph Simmons, Run-D.M.C.) posted “Know God, know peace. No God, no peace.” which was then re-tweeted by Christian Twitter users in an apparent attempt to get the phrase listed on Twitter’s Trending Topics list.  The Trending Topics list, which displays on every Twitter page for all users, shows a moment-by-moment ranking of the most tweeted phrases on Twitter at any given time and has become a vehicle for promoting ideas and agendas.  However, the effort soon went awry when Atheist Twitter users and others starting tweeting only a portion of the phrase: “no god”.  The efforts of the Christians (using the full phrase) combined with the efforts of the Atheists (using the two word phrase) resulted in the “no god” phrase being ranked as the Trending Topic for most of the day because it was contained in both phrases.  At one point there were thousands of references to “No God” per minute.  The appropriate term here is: FAIL!
